Help me start planning a Rwanda trip
Of course - Rwanda is a wonderful place to start. Try one of these:
Explore Rwanda
Five flagship destinations, each a different face of Rwanda - from gorilla forests to savanna and serene lakes.

One full day offers a meaningful introduction. Two days allow the Memorial, contemporary culture, food and neighborhood life to be explored without rushing. Kigali can also be divided between the beginning and end of a journey.

Two nights can support one primary activity. Three nights are better for combining gorillas with golden monkeys, hiking or conservation experiences without turning the stay into a sequence of early starts.

Two nights provide a good introduction. Three nights allow the northern and southern sectors, a boat excursion and less hurried wildlife viewing.

Three nights are a practical minimum for travelers combining chimpanzees with the canopy walkway or another forest activity. Longer stays suit birding and substantial hiking.

One night provides a pause. Two or three nights allow the lake to become a meaningful part of the journey.

Several distinct worlds sit within a few hours of each other. Here's how the country's flagship destinations relate - and why they combine so naturally into a single trip.

Journeys by Time
We design journeys around the time you have - not rigid packages. A sense of what's possible at each length.
Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park, with a Kigali arrival and a cultural afternoon. The essentials, done well.
Pair gorillas with the Big Five in Akagera, or add golden monkeys and a lakeside pause on Lake Kivu.
Gorillas, chimps in Nyungwe, the canopy walk, the savanna and the lake - Rwanda's signature loop at a rewarding pace.
A deep, unhurried journey across Rwanda - or combine it with selected East African extensions when you're ready for more.
